CMI Tariff Update on Synthetic Underlayments

| Dear Valued Customer, On August 7, CMI announced an increase in our tariff surcharge, as the U.S. government adjusted most reciprocal tariffs, and many have been finalized. This amount varies by country of origin. It’s more important than ever to deal with a global supplier with the scale and scope of CMI, which has multi-origin flexibility for supply, freight, and tariff optimization. CMI can pivot for our customers to bring the best value to support the market. Our underlayments are produced in multiple countries with strict adherence to our specifications and third-party testing, all carrying audited certification numbers. There will be no variance from one origin to another. We have seen announcements where single-origin suppliers have announced tariff surcharges of up to 50%. This will be a problem for our customers and contractors. CMI’s tariffs will be covered by, on average, the 25% previously announced rate and only on the FOB value, not the sales price. We have already seen cases of producers shipping through another transit point to circumvent the tariff requirements. This is illegal, and regardless of your knowledge, the U.S. government could seize that material that has been transshipped to avoid a tariff. |

| Self-adhered rolls will have ZERO tariff surcharges at this time. If you are getting self-adhered rolls from origins with 50% tariffs, please call us to discuss significant cost-saving opportunities. |
